Intro
Supertots are Private Registered Day Nurseries which has been established since 1990. Supertots is located over two sites in Edenfield Road and Manchester Road, Rochdale, and offers day care to children from three months to five years. We are committed to creating an early year’s nursery which would give a head start in life.
Not only have the nurseries been designed and constructed to the latest standards, but they are also staffed to provide the highest levels of care. The nursery has 43 members of staff located over the two sites and the continual training of qualified and experienced carers ensures that each child is treated as a special individual and enjoys lots of fun through supervised play.
The baby unit follows the Birth to Three framework and has created a warm, happy, relaxed and stimulating environment that allows the children aged between 3 and 18 months, to develop at their own pace.
The Tiny Tots also follows the Birth to Three framework and has an inviting and stimulating environment for children between 18 months and 2 years. The layout of the rooms encourages children to develop their independence and physical skills. The staff also ensure that they provide an environment rich in language, encouraging communication skills which are very important to this age group.
The 2 – 3 year old group enjoy a variety of continuous provision areas, allowing them to make choices and discover and explore at their own pace. The staff build on the foundations made in the Tiny Tots and work towards mastering the 4 areas of the Birth to Three framework. The children begin to build friendships and they learn the importance of sharing.
The pre-school children follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum, preparing them for the school environment. They learn through play and activities such as: Creative design – construction – water play – sand play – malleable construction - story telling – Oxford Reading Tree – Music and movement.
The superb outdoor facilities enable the children to discover, experiment, make decisions and choices, but above all have FUN.
Themes and Activities
Our themes and activities are divided into 6 main areas:
- Personal, Social and Emotional

- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development
The children have superb outdoor areas to run around and play. They play outside at least twice a day and it is part of a day at Nursery. There are areas to do nature studies and observe living things. There is a variety of equipment both large and small to play with.
Baby Unit
Self contained unit where we encourage play, general development and social skills. We have a quiet sleeping room separate for undisruptive sleep. Weekly diaries are provided highlighting the activities the children have done in the week.
Pre School
We teach early educational development introducing sounds, developing writing skills, understanding basic number work and reading skills to prepare the children for school.
Meals
All the meals we provide are cooked on the premises and made with fresh ingredients. We have weekly deliveries of meat and fruit and vegetables in order to create healthy, balanced meals. All cultural and dietary needs catered for. Menus are on a 12 week rota.
