NEW PRESIDENT!
At the last Christmas concert the orchestra played tribute to our President Sir Malcolm Arnold, who sadly died in September 2006. Sir Malcolm had long given his support to RYO attending many concerts. His reputation and encouragement would be a ‘hard act to follow’. We were delighted therefore to announce that local celebrity Lisa Stansfield had agreed to become our new President. Lisa said "I am thrilled to be asked to become the new President of Rochdale Youth Orchestra, I would love to attend as many concerts as possible", and we look forward to welcoming her to one of our concerts in the future.

RYO recently appeared on the VH1 music channel. The programme, called 'Nations Favourite Musical City', featured Rochdale's very own Lisa Stansfield and of course now our President.
