Rochdale Ancient Parish Educational Trust

Intro

1. Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants for grants from the Trust should:

a) Reside in the area of the Ancient Parish of Rochdale (N.B. the geographical area of the Ancient Parish of Rochdale includes Rochdale, Littleborough, Milnrow, Wardle, Whitworth, Todmorden, Saddleworth); or
b) Attend a school in the area of the Ancient Parish of Rochdale; or
c) Have attended a school in the area immediately preceding the making of an application for assistance.

NOTE: There is no age limit for applicants, but preference will be given to persons qualified who are under the age of 25 years.

2. What Grants are available for

Grants from the Trust may be given for any purpose which promotes the education of the applicant (including social and physical training). In particular, monies may be given for the following purposes:

a) Scholarships, bursaries, grants or maintenance allowances tenable at any school, University, College or Education or other institution of further or higher (including professional and technical) education approved by the Trustees;
b) Scholarships or maintenance allowances to enable such persons to travel, whether in the United Kingdom or abroad to pursue their education;
c) To provide financial assistance, outfits, clothing, tools, instruments or books to enable such persons to prepare for, or to assist their entry into a profession, trade or calling.


3. Restrictions

Prospective applicants need not apply if any of the following criteria applies to them as the Trustees have deemed them to be eligible for assistance:

a) Applicants in receipt of assistance from Hopwood Hall College Access Fund;
b) Applicants who have already been awarded assistance from the Rochdale Educational Trust.
