Four 'C's course to safer food
Date published: 12/06/2006
Residents across Rochdale borough can make sure they are eating safely this summer, as Rochdale Council marks Food Safety Week (12-18 June). The focus for this year's event is four 'Cs' for food safety: Cleanliness, Cooking, Chilling and Cross-contamination.
Now the warm weather has arrived, the dangers of food problems increase. So advice and information will be available at the Council's Information Centres throughout the week, and also at the Asda supermarket, Dane Street in Rochdale on Thursday 15 June
You can test your knowledge of how to store, prepare and cook your food to make sure you enjoy the taste without the stomach upset.
Schools across the borough will be taking part in the competition, with book token prizes for the under- and over-11 age groups.
Helpful advice, quizzes, competitions and other information, as well as local events will be listed on the foodlink website www.foodlink.org.uk.
