Deputy Musical Director wanted for the GMP Male Voice Choir

Milnrow based Frank Pearson is on the lookout for a Deputy Musical Director for the Greater Manchester Police Male Voice Choir.
The choir, which was founded in 1974, is looking for a Deputy Musical Director with previous experience and able to play the piano, to help in the training and conducting of the 40 choir members.
Such is the popularity of the choir, bookings are often taken up to a year in advance and they have been privileged to help raise thousands of pounds for charities such as Scope, The Rainbow Trust, various cancer research charities as well as local schools and churches. The choir also regularly perform throughout the North of England and travel the UK for concerts and festivals.
The choir’s members are made up of serving and retired police officers, police staff and also the general public. Rehearsals are held at the Training Centre in Prestwich every Thursday evening between 7.30pm and 9.45pm.
Interviews for the post will be held in August with a view for the appointment to commence from 1 September 2006. The deadline for applications is Friday 21 July 2006.
