Springhill Hospice’s Celebrity Call My Bluff
Date published: 14/03/2006
This year’s annual ‘Celebrity Call My Bluff’ event in aid of Springhill Hospice has a decidedly ‘Coronation Street’ feel to it. Three of the guest panelists are Eric Potts, who plays baker ‘Diggory Compton’ in the soap, Vicki Binns, who plays his daughter, ‘Molly’, and Jennie McAlpine, better know to Street viewers as ‘Fizz Brown’.
They will be joined by former Fundraising Director of the Hospice, Ken Davies, making a welcome cameo appearance following his retirement last year, and the evening will be chaired by Ian Jenkins, Springhill’s Fundraising Manager.
Mr. Jenkins says, “Since we reintroduced them a couple of years ago, we have had some great ‘Call My Bluff’ nights – those who were present at them will not forget Dave Spikey putting his Dictaphone to great use, or comedian Steve Royle stripping down to a leotard last year! Although I can’t guarantee anything like that again, I’m sure we’re in for a good laugh and, at the same time, we will be raising vital funds for the Hospice.”
The event is open to teams of four for an entry fee of £16.00 and it takes place in the Horners Suite at Rochdale Football Club on Thursday 16 March 2006, commencing at 7.30pm. A potato pie ‘tea’ will be served for £2.00 per person from 6.30pm.
