Dagnall in team of the week

Striker Chris Dagnall has been rewarded for his fantastic comeback hat trick on Easter Monday by being including in the Football League, Coca Cola League 2 Team of the Week.

After the game the quietly spoken striker was a very happy man: "No one could have written that sort of story I know, it was a great return for me. I have been eager to get back but the staff have been holding me back for a couple of weeks now. It was fantastic to be back and getting the hat trick was just a bonus.

"Lee Thorpe did brilliantly for my first goal and is someone ideal for me to play alongside. he is great in the air and really strong. For my second I probably got a bit of luck with the deflection but I will take any goals however they come, they all count. For my 3rd it was a brilliant ball from Tom Kennedy. the defender committed himself so I tucked back inside and when the keeper left a big gap I just aimed it there.

"Obviously it was a great result for us, especially with the others going our way so everything is in our own hands now and that is all that we can ask."
