Queensway’s Shocking Burglary - Witness Appeal
Date published: 24/01/2005
Detectives are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary at a house in Rochdale on Friday 21 January 2005. At some time between midnight and 1.00am three masked offenders are believed to have burst into the house on Queensway and put a knife to the 50-year-old man's throat.
They then tied up the 50- year old and his 43-year-old wife. It is thought that the offenders were in the property for up to two hours before they made off in the victims' silver Volkwagen Polo, with a substantial amount of cash and jewellery.
The vehicle was later found abandoned on Darley Road in Kirkholt.
The men are described as white, wearing black clothing with black balaclavas and black gloves. Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the victims' silver 2003-registered silver Polo in the area at the time of the robbery or anyone with any information which may help officers with their enquiries to contact Rochdale CID on 0161 856 8551 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
