Witness Appeal for School Thieves and Associated RTC

Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary and road traffic accident in Rochdale last night, Wednesday 27 October. At around 9.10pm police were called to Balderstone Technology College in the Kirkholt area of Rochdale after reports of a burglary.
Five men forced their way into the school and stole a large quantity of computer equipment. Two of them then left the scene in a red vehicle, two left in a white Volvo 440 and a fifth man left on foot.
When police arrived at the school they followed the Volvo on to Oldham Road where it collided with a blue Ford Fiesta and a parked Mercedes C class outside The Summit Inn.
The driver and front seat passenger of the Volvo then ran away from the scene.
A man from the Volvo was later arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody at Rochdale.
