Firefighter injured in fail to stop RTA in Norden

Police in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses after a firefighter was injured when a car knocked him over and failed to stop yesterday evening, Tuesday 3rd August 2004.
The firefighter had been called to a flooding incident on Norford Way in Norden at around 7.50pm and was in the process of attaching a pipe to a hydrant when a car drove into the back of him.
The firefighter fell to the ground and was taken to Rochdale Infirmary suffering from minor back and leg injuries but has since been discharged.
The car, which has been described as a black 4x4 Porsche, drove off from the scene and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information about the car involved to contact the Traffic Unit on 0161 856 8473 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
