Impact Partnership - 250th job created
Date published: 23/04/2008
The Impact Partnership, has created its 250th job - a significant achievement for the company, which was established 2 years ago this month to tackle the economic challenges facing Rochdale Borough.
The 250th recruit, Liz Delaney, recently joined Impact’s Business & Customer Services team as a Project Manager.
“I’ve hit the ground running since joining the team at Impact” says Ms Delaney, who used to live in Norden and continues to have strong local connections with the area.
“I’m currently working on a project to deliver an IT system for the ROSA service – the Rochdale & Oldham Supply Agency. ROSA supply stand-in teachers and teaching assistants across both Boroughs and up until now, they have been using a predominantly paper-based system.
“We are providing them with an IT-based system to streamline processes – which we hope will further improve efficiency and enhance the service to schools.”
The Impact Partnership is a pioneering joint venture partnership between Mouchel (recently ranked 16th in the Sunday Times’ league table of top employers in Britain by making the grade in the ‘Best Big Companies To Work For’), Agilysis and Rochdale Council.
We’re committed to achieving over 1300 sustainable jobs over the next 15 years, as well as supporting physical regeneration across the Borough.
And reaching this key milestone proves that Impact is on target to achieve its long term ambitions – if not to exceed them.
Welcoming the latest member of the team, Managing Director Chris Lavery confirmed Impact’s ongoing commitment to local job creation:
“We are delighted to be at the forefront in creating so many new jobs in the Rochdale area and, most importantly, that a significant number of these have been filled locally.
“Job creation and new business is critical if we are to succeed in contributing to the regeneration of the Borough, and I believe the Partnership is well on the way to achieving this.”
A significant portion of the new jobs created on the back of the Partnership have been in the IT and business services sectors, with Impact’s private IT partner Agilisys.
Towards this, over 100 new customer service roles have been appointed in a contact centre established in the heart of Rochdale, with the majority of these jobs going to local residents, providing call services to both the public and private sectors across the UK.
HR Business Partner Annette Hockey adds: “The regeneration of Rochdale has already started, but we are now looking for specialist candidates to take it forward. To do this, we need professionals and graduates who want to make an impact on regeneration, and join an ambitious, diverse and rapidly growing company.”
