Rochdale band Crimson Scarlet have finished work on their fourth CD.

The two track album ‘Miss Lane’ features some of the band’s best work to date; displaying the full wealth of their musical experience.

The title track is a moody blues number that brings together unique guitar riffs with superb rolling vocals, all underpinned by the band’s now-traditional drum and bass guitar combination.

Music reviewer Duncan Rigby was one of the first people to hear the new tracks. He said of ‘Miss Lane’: “This is mood music, it took me back to a 'when'. When smoke hung like strata in the air. When there was that invisible sun. When flares and afghan coats were worn. When bars were made of real wood, not Formica.

“Give it a listen and spot your sonic nostalgic 'when' moment. "

Track two is the band’s power ballad ‘Still You Let Me In’. It’s a complex melody, combining intricate guitar work with a soaring vocal, but Crimson Scarlet sweep you into the track and don’t stop taking you on their journey until the final beat.

Duncan said: “This power ballad cuts it, I could not stop it driving me, it was changing gears and kicking it on down that road to that inevitable meeting.”

For those that can’t wait to get their hands on the CD, the tracks are available at the band’s website:
