Would-be Rochdale Infirmary chief exec to sue former employers
A former health trust boss, shortlisted to become chief executive at Rochdale Infirmary, is to sue her former employer.
Rose Gibb was disgraced as chief executive of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust as 90 people died from the clostridium difficile bug. The Trust was the subject of an investigation after complaints about infections and dirty wards. She resigned in October last year and was awarded £75,000 in severance pay.
Initially Health Secretary Alan Johnson blocked her severance pay while legal advice was sought.
She is taking action against her former employers to recover money that she believes is owed to her in a ‘compromise agreement’ between her and the trust.
Ms Gibb was one of three people shortlisted for the top job at Pennine Acute Trust, which runs Rochdale Infirmary.
