Millions more for Rochdale housing
More than £14.5 million of funding from the Housing Corporation will provide over 270 new affordable homes in Rochdale and Oldham over the next three years.
The announcement follows the news that the Government has awarded £90 million of Housing Market Renewal funding to be invested in nine neighbourhoods across both boroughs by 2011.
The Housing Corporation money will support a variety of projects across the boroughs. In Rochdale the funding will enable the development of new affordable housing in Wardleworth and south of Rochdale town centre.
Pathfinder Director Alastair Graham said, “The funding from the Housing Corporation is a huge vote of confidence in efforts to transform neighbourhoods across Rochdale and Oldham.
“Alongside the confirmation of housing market renewal funding for the next three years, this is more excellent news for local people, who are seeing new high quality homes being built in their neighbourhoods.”
