Traffic officers in Milnrow are appealing for the owner of a quad bike to come forward after a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured.
On Sunday 18 June 2006 police were called to Hollingworth High School on Cornfield Street following reports a teenager had been riding a quad bike on the rugby pitch. It is believed the 16-year-old local boy was in collision with a rugby post and suffered a fractured pelvis.
He was taken to Rochdale Infirmary where he is still receiving treatment.
When police arrived at the rugby pitch the quad bike had been taken away and officers need to trace the owner. It is believed the bike is owned by another 16-year-old from the Rochdale area.
Anyone with information about the collision or the whereabouts of the bike owner is asked to contact traffic officers at the Area 3 Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 8473.
