Bike Week opening for St Peter's new cycle store

Pupils at St Peter's CE primary school in Rochdale are celebrating the opening of their new cycle storage this week on Wednesday 21 June.

Children who cycle to the school on the day will enjoy a free breakfast to mark the occasion.

The new facility, which can accommodate up to 40 bikes, is opened during National Bike Week.

The school has been working hard to reduce congestion, particularly on Muriel Street and as part of their travel plan wanted to encourage more children to cycle to school.

St Peter's have been taking part in a pilot scheme known as 'Bike it', run by sustainable transport charity Sustrans, who provided the funding for the scheme.
