Odeon film premiere to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust
The Odeon Cinema, Sandbrook Park, Rochdale will be raising vital funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust on Sunday 16 July at 4pm by holding the Charity Premiere of Garfield 2: A Tail Of Two Kitties. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the UK’s most common, life-threatening inherited disease and claims three lives a week in the UK.
Colin Alexander, General Manager of the Odeon Rochdale has chosen to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust because his newly born nephew (Angus Alexander) was diagnosed with the disease shortly after his birth. Colin said: "I wanted to make a small gesture to raise some much needed funds to help find a cure for this disease".
All money raised on the day (and during the run up to the event) will go towards projects such as gene therapy research and will also help provide support, advice and help to the 7,500 babies, children and young adults living with Cystic Fibrosis in the UK. To help maximise the money raised 20th Century Fox have kindly donated the film for free, and Odeon are giving every penny from the box office receipts direct to the charity.
Tickets for the Premiere are on sale now from the Odeon Rochdale box office, Odeon Filmline 0871 22 44 007, and the Odeon website www.odeon.co.uk. Colin said: "this will be a great day for adults and children. There will be goody bags for the children and a great raffle for the adults. A lot of local companies have been very generous."
