The Parliament Magazine’s MEP Awards acknowledge and celebrate the work of MEP’s within seven categories over the past year.
Since the beginning of the year nominations have been made by organisations across Europe for the MEPs that have made an outstanding achievement in the various policy areas. Chris Davies has been nominated for the environmental award.
Tony Long, the Director of WWF's European Policy Office in Brussels, has praised Mr Davies’ environmental credentials. He said:
"Chris is extremely knowledgeable, interested and committed to finding solutions to the big environmental issues that are now confronting us. WWF considers him to be a major champion for the environment in the European Parliament."
Chris Davies is delighted to that WWF has put his name forward for the award.
He said: "Concern about the damage we are doing to our environment got me interested in politics when I was 16 years old. To say that I am proud to have been nominated for this award by WWF would be an understatement."
Three MEPs will be shortlisted in each category and the awards are to be presented in Brussels this October.
