Detectives in Rochdale are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery outside a Post Office in Littleborough.

Shortly before 10.20am, Thursday 26 October 2006, security guards were making a cash delivery to the Caldermoor Post Office on Shore Road when a man threatened one of them with a gun.

He demanded money and took a substantial amount of cash. He escaped with another man in a dark blue Audi A4, similar to the registration number MP06 UCP.

No one was injured during the incident, however the guards and an elderly woman at the scene were left very shaken.

The two men were both wearing balaclavas.

Detectives are keen to trace the car, which was last seen heading towards Rochdale and would ask anyone who sees it to contact them immediately.

Anyone with any further information should contact the Volume Crime Team at Rochdale on 0161 856 4670 or 856 4645. Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
