Liquid Rock nightclub closed after shots fired

Liquid Rock nightclub has been served with a 24 hour closure order after a gun was fired in the club in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 2 December 2006.

At 12.30am police were called to Liquid Rock nightclub on Great George Street following reports that shot had been fired.

Officers attended and could not find evidence of anyone injured at the scene.

A short time later a man attended North Manchester General Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to his buttock. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this incident are ongoing.
