Christmas Crime Prevention Roadshow
Date published: 07/12/2006
The first in a series of Christmas Crime Prevention Roadshow staged in Rochdale to reduce incidents of domestic burglary and robbery as well as the fear of crime took place at Wardleworth Community Centre on Wednesday 6 December.
The roadshow provided crime prevention advice and products to members of the community, and is funded by the Greater Manchester High Sheriff's Police Trust, the Local Authority Safer Communities Partnership, Rochdale Borough Wide Housing and Syke Base Community Group.
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) advised visitors on domestic security products such as light timers, window shock alarms and shed alarms, and remind them not to leave valuable items like Christmas presents on view in the home.
PCSOs also handed out property marking packs containing UV pens and personal attack alarms to young people who are at risk of becoming victims of robbery.
