Fairtrade Fortnight 2007 in Rochdale

Rochdale became a Fairtrade borough in March 2006 and the Council, Rochdale Forum members and supporters will be busy during Fairtrade Fortnight 2007, which runs from 26 Feb to 11 March, helping to spread the Fairtrade message even wider.
Rochdale Fairtrade Forum, supported by the Council, co-ordinates the Fairtrade campaign in the borough and they have gone from strength to strength since achieving Fairtrade borough status last year. They have identified new outlets in the borough that sell/serve and use Fairtrade products and have provided displays amp; presentations at events across the borough. They have even set up a trading arm - FAIR FOR ALL - selling Fairtrade products at Rochdale market every Saturday. The Forum is made up purely of volunteers with a passion for Fairtrade.
The group, who are always looking for new members to help share their workload and enthusiasm, are encouraging local businesses, shops and cafes to get involved in Fairtrade Fortnight 2007 - CHANGE TODAY - CHOOSE FAIRTRADE. They also ask that anyone supporting the Fairtrade campaign get in touch with the Forum so they can be included on their 'Fairtrade Friendly' listings.
The Council and Fairtrade Forum have organised the following event to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2007 so come along if you wish to find out more or just want to pledge your support.

To celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight 2007, Rochdale Council amp; Rochdale Fairtrade Forum brings you FAIR FOR ALL - fun, food, displays and a selection of speeches, art, dance and theatre provided by the young people of the borough.
The event aims to raise the profile of Fairtrade and how people can make a difference simply by using their own purchasing power.
Rochdale is proud to be a Fairtrade borough and we are extremely pleased to have some of the young people in the borough to help us spread the Fairtrade message. We hope that you can come along and join us on the night.
