Well deserved pamper for mums
Date published: 20/03/2007
Be pampered was the message at Castlemere Children’s Centre as mums were invited to join a relaxation session as part of International Women’s Week.
The morning attracted plenty of mums who took time out to enjoy a Indian head massage, hand massage, and henna painting in a candle lit soothing atmosphere.
Meanwhile their children were looked after next door in the dedicated crèche area.
The aim of the morning session was to allow parents to relax without children for a few hours and chat to other adults without the usual interruptions of little ones.
There was also the opportunity to have a bite to eat at a breakfast bar set up especially for the day and enter the prize raffle to win all kinds of pamper goodies to use at home.
Karen Meadham, who organised the event, said: "This is the first event I have organised since coming to work at Castlemere Children’s Centre. We wanted to recognise International Women’s Day and give parents some time out from caring for their children to relax. It’s important that parents still have some time to re charge their batteries and speak to other like-minded parents. The day was lots of fun and sparked ideas for future activities."
