Local jobs for local people

The Impact Partnership has announced the creation of 80 new jobs in Rochdale.
The Impact Partnership was established in 2006 to tackle the economic challenges facing the borough, including the creation of new jobs and supporting physical regeneration.
A major step forward for Impact sees 80 customer service roles appointed in a call centre developed in the heart of Rochdale, and with the majority of these jobs going to people who live within the borough.
Impact Director Nigel Muirhead explains: "When the Partnership was established last year we announced our intention to win new business and serve our clients from Rochdale. I am delighted to announce that less than a year later we have created a significant number of skilled and fully trained local jobs providing services to a national client in the healthcare industry.
"We believe this is a great success for the Partnership, and are delighted to be having a positive impact on the regeneration of the Rochdale area - something we are passionately committed to."
The Partnership is committed to create over 1,300 new jobs within Rochdale borough. A significant portion of that target, 400, will be in the IT and business service sectors, along with Impact’s private IT partner, Agilisys.
"We are delighted that so many new jobs have already been created in the Rochdale area, and most importantly, almost all of these have been recruited locally", comments Managing Director Chris Lavery. "Job creation and new business is critical if we are to succeed in regenerating the Borough, and I believe the Partnership is well on its way to making a significant impact."
