Man seriously injured in collision on Manchester Road

A man is in hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a collision in Rochdale on the night of Friday 1 June 2007.
At about 10.40pm, a 34-year-old man from Rochdale was driving a Toyota Avensis north along Manchester Road.
As he passed the junction with Tweedale Street, he collided with a 27-year-old man who is thought to have stepped into the road from the central reservation.
The 27-year-old pedestrian, who is from Rochdale, was taken to Rochdale Infirmary with head and chest injuries. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The driver of the car is not believed to have been injured.
Manchester Road was closed between Tweedale Street and Drake Street for about three hours while the incident was dealt with.
