Former TBA/Federal Mogul site - activity update
Further measures are to be taken to more clearly distinguish between the public right of way along Woodlands Road and private land with no right of access.
The site wall on Woodlands Road close to Rooley Moor Road has been vandalised over an extensive period: the height is now approaching a level that is considered insufficient to protect public safety. Consequently, metal panels are to be fixed in place, initially in the area of worst damage.
With the closure of the Federal Mogul operations on site, it is anticipated that there will be a significant increase in site traffic as machinery is relocated.
There is an ongoing programme of groundwater/ground gas monitoring at the site and includes monthly visits to the site by an engineer, which should take no more than two hours each to complete. No protective clothing other than standard high visibility jackets and protective boots will be worn during the visits, as no ground will be disturbed. These visits are to continue until further notice.
