Westgate Department Store going yellow for Springhill

Date published: 13/06/2007

Westgate Department Store in Rochdale will be awash with yellow on Saturday 16 June as the staff and customers raise funds for Springhill Hospice.

Keith Rudman, Manager of the store, said: "I am delighted to be able to do something for Springhill Hospice, which I feel is a credit to the town, and I hope we will help raise much needed funds."

Events on the day will include a free prize draw for a DVD Recorder, a "Play Your Card’s Right’ with prizes, a fashion show, an in-store disco and a Tombola stall.

In addition, Westgate staff are paying £2.00 each to come to work that day dressed in yellow as part of the national Hospice movement’s "Go Yellow’ campaign.

Ian Jenkins, Fundraising Manager at Springhill Hospice, said: "On behalf of everybody at Springhill, I must thank Keith and his staff for really getting behind this event and supporting the hospice. It should be very colourful and I would urge anybody shopping in the town centre on Saturday to pop in and join the fun."
