Improve your chances in the job market

Rochdale Employment Links, in conjunction with Rochdale Connections Trust, is encouraging jobseekers to attend a free course to help them to present themselves effectively to employers. Guests will be shown how to go about getting the right job for them. The course is for over 18s and is specifically aimed at the unemployed.

The course will show unemployed people:

  • The image that they should present to new employers
  • The skills that employers are looking for and how they have developed those skills and where they have used them in the past
  • How to make a good first impression and hit the right notes at first contact with prospective employers
  • How to research the job market to find out about vacancies and make first contact with prospective employers
  • How to do well in the interview and convince the employer that they should get the job

The course includes a Team Member Development Programme which will show course starters how to be a better team member in new workplaces. Upon completion of this element of the course, attendees will receive a certificate from The Institute of Leadership amp; Management, which can lead on to other courses in management.

Course students will also be  taught about Health and safety awareness, detailing safe working practice and the basics of the law on health and safety at work.

The course runs on the 18, 19 amp; 20 September and on 2 amp; 3 October. Start and finish times may vary but full details will be issued to all starters.

The course takes place at the Rochdale Employment Links Offices, 99-101 Drake Street, Rochdale.
