Get involved in NHS 60 project for Rochdale Infirmary and Birch Hill Hospital
Date published: 10/09/2008
Rochdale residents are being invited to contribute to a history project which will look back on the last 60 years of Rochdale Infirmary and Birch Hill Hospital.
A working group of staff are appealing for people to share memorabilia and memories to support a display at the Infirmary later this year to mark the NHS 60th anniversary.
Some smaller items of historical interest may be included in a time capsule to be buried on site.
Similar projects are being undertaken at the other hospitals run by Pennine Acute Trust, namely Bury’s Fairfield General, The Royal Oldham Hospital and North Manchester General.
Anne Rhodes, who is leading the Rochdale group, said: “This promises to be a very interesting project which will provide a great opportunity to remember bygone times and celebrate the achievements of the last 60 years.
“The group would welcome the involvement of Rochdale residents in the project, including retired staff, patients and anyone with interesting memories or memorabilia they may wish to share about the Rochdale hospitals.”
Anyone wishing to be involved should contact Anne on 01706 517093 or email Anne.Rhodes@pat.nhs.uk
