Flowers, fruit and face painting at weekend garden show
Date published: 12/08/2008
With the aim of raising the profile of horticultural societies, while demonstrating the real satisfaction and benefit of 'growing your own', the All-In-One Garden Centre is hosting it’s annual horticultural show and charity fun weekend this Saturday and Sunday (16 and 17 August).
The charity activities include face painting, mask and badge making and 'grow your own' workshops, all run by Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale between 10.30am and 4pm both days.
The Horticultural Show has 70 classes covering floral, plant and vegetable sections as well as arts and crafts, home baking and junior classes.
The Horticultural Society with the most points earned across all the classes will win a cash prize of £200, while individual class prizes are given for first, second and third place.
Anyone wishing to enter the Horticultural Show still has time. Entry forms and a full class schedule are available at the Middleton store or on their website:

Jill Somerville, from All-In-One said: "Throughout the garden centre, this weekend only, there will be many special offers, including vouchers for a free pot of tea with every main meal, half price chickens and great offers on selected lines across the store.
"A barbeque demonstration will be held during the event and the restaurants’ popular sausages will be sampled throughout the day.
"This is a free weekend event and everybody is very welcome."
