Supporters needed to inject cash into hospital appeal
Date published: 11/07/2008
Fundraisers are being urged to inject some cash into a new mini-appeal in aid of Rochdale Infirmary.
Children’s charity MedEquip4Kids has agreed to fund five digital syringe pumps for the High Dependency Unit at Rochdale Infirmary and is looking for help from businesses and community groups in Rochdale.
The digital syringe pumps will replace out-dated equipment and will be used to ensure children and babies receive the precise quantities of medication needed. The syringes are more accurate and will give confidence to staff that exactly the right amount of medicine is being delivered while helping to minimise any distress to a child.
MedEquip4Kids Community Fundraiser Rachel Allen said: “Each pump costs just under £1,800 and we are looking for small businesses, groups and people within the community to help us fundraise. You could help fund an entire syringe or just part of one.
“We have worked with Rochdale Infirmary for a number of years now helping to fund various pieces of equipment. It would be fantastic if we could get the Rochdale community more involved with our work.”
MedEquip4Kids exists to improve the health care of children and babies in hospitals throughout the North West. The charity works with nursing staff, play therapists and community groups to provide life saving equipment and services.
