Woman trapped in car after collision on M62

A woman was trapped in a car after a crash at the Rochdale junction of the M62 yesterday (Thursday 10 July).

Two cars collided on the eastbound carriageway around midnight on Wednesday night / Thursday morning.

A female passenger in one of the cars, a Range Rover, was trapped in one of the back seats after the car left the motorway and ran into the barrier of the bridge running over Manchester Road in Castleton. The driver and two other passengers were able to get out of the car.

The woman was rescued by the fire service and taken to hospital after breaking her leg in the smash.
