70 year old man missing - police appeal
Date published: 26/01/2006
Police in Rochdale are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 70 year old man who suffers from memory loss and has not been seen since the early hours of this morning.
Wilfred RUDD (11/07/35) of Worcester Street, Rochdale, was last seen by his wife at approximately 4am Thursday 26 January.
She heard him open and close the front door and thought he was letting the cat out. When she got up later that morning she found the cat was still in the house and her husband was missing.
Officers are concerned that Wilfred may have become disorientated and may not be able to find his way home. He has never been missing before and has recently been struggling to cope with lack of sleep and increasing memory
loss.
Wilfred was wearing his pyjamas (a navy blue shirt and brown trousers) and a dark brown tweed overcoat when he went missing, along with navy blue slippers. He is approximately 5'10'' tall, of slim build but is described as having a chubby face. He has grey hair that is balding on top.
He often goes for walks along the canal towpath close to his home and is known to go pubs and betting shops in the area.
Police are appealing to anyone with any further information on Wilfred's whereabouts to contact police in Rochdale on 0161 856 8522 or 0161 872 5050.
