Police appeal about man missing from home for two years

Police in Rochdale have launched a fresh appeal for information about a man who has been missing from home for over two years.

Adrian Eldred (DOB 06/10/1960) was last seen at 6pm on Tuesday 13 May 2003 by his family at an address in Rochdale.

Officers have launched a new appeal for information after several reported sightings of Adrian in the Rochdale area.

A woman who knows Adrian believes that she saw him at Rochdale Royal Infirmary on 22 November 2005, walking out of the outpatients department. He was wearing a dark coloured fleece and narrow fitting blue jeans.

Adrian's estranged wife has also reported seeing him on two occasions.

The first reported sighting was at the end of October or the beginning of November 2005, when she saw him driving past her in a white Ford Escort car or van on Shawclough Road near to the top of Healey Dell, heading towards Bacup. About a week later, she believes she saw Adrian driving the same vehicle along Darlington Road, heading towards Castleton.

Adrian is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall and of slim build, with short mousey blonde hair and his teeth are described as being in a poor condition. Police believe Adrian could now have shaven or cropped hair and may look older than he appears in his photograph.

Chief Inspector Karin Mulligan of Rochdale police said: "Adrian has been missing for over two years now and despite sustained efforts we have still not managed to locate him.

"We remain concerned for Adrian's welfare, and if he is living in the Rochdale area, I would like him to get in touch with the police or his family.

"He is not in any type of trouble but we just want to know that he is safe and well.

"I would ask anyone who sees Adrian or who has any information about his whereabouts to contact police at Rochdale on 0161 856 4638/39/40/41 or Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050."
