Assault and robbery at Holy Family Church - two men charged

Two men have been charged in connection with the assault and robbery at Holy Family Church in Kirkholt, Rochdale, on Saturday 10 December 2005.

William McLeod CURWEN, (DOB 07/09/74) of Ranley Grove in Rochdale and Peter GOUGH, (DOB 22/09/85) of no fixed abode were arrested on Wednesday 14 December and were charged with robbery this afternoon, Thursday 15 December 2005.

They will appear at Rochdale Magistrates Court on Friday 16 December 2005.

Police were called to the Church on Mornington road at 3.35pm on Saturday following reports the priest had been assaulted and robbed.
