United Co-operatives PR Manager Janette Shingler 'uncovers' for calendar

Two of the UK’s leading cancer hospitals – Christie’s in Manchester and Weston Park at Sheffield – are set to benefit after United Co-operatives Food Group employees got ‘uncovered’ for a cheeky fundraising calendar.

A dozen models, men and women, from across the Food Group overcame their inhibitions to pose for the calendar and among those who were prepared to face the teasing of their work colleagues, suppliers and customers was Janette Shingler who works at United Co-operatives’Head Office in Sandbrook Park.

Tim Hurrell, General Manager for the Food Group, said: ‘Most people who live in the North West or Yorkshire region know someone who has had connections with Christie’s or Weston Park and we hope they will be happy to support such a worthwhile charity.  We would like to thank everyone who has supported this project and given their time freely, enabling all the proceeds to go direct to the hospitals’. 

The ‘United Uncovered’ calendar costs £4.99 and is available from all United Co-operatives food stores or via calendar@coop.co.uk.  The proceeds will go to United Against Cancer, United Co-operatives’ charity of the year, which supports the two cancer hospitals.
