New GM Chamber President makes members his priority

Manchester lawyer Keith Johnston has become the third president of Greater Manchester Chamber.

Mr Johnston is a Partner and member of the Governance Board of Addleshaw Goddard LLP. He is also Chairman of the firm's Professional Practice and Risk Committee. 

He specialises in corporate and corporate finance law and advises a range of clients from FTSE 350 and overseas companies and owner-managed businesses. He is based at Addleshaw Goddard’s Manchester office and has worked in the city since 1974.

Angie Robinson, Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Chamber, said: "I’m delighted to welcome Keith Johnston as our new president and look forward to working with him.

"He has already hit the ground running by attending a number of meetings with Chamber members and is brimming with ideas for his term of office."

Keith Johnston said: "I am truly honoured to be elected as the President of this great Chamber.  My principal focus as President will be our membership in every aspect – including growing our membership and enhancing further the benefits and support we provide for our members."

Mr Johnston was elected president at the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting in Manchester. He succeeds Peter Weidenbaum OBE, Executive Chairman of Radcliffe-based manufacturer Trumeter.
