Zen gets gamers online for fundraising weekend

Date published: 12/05/2006

Zen Internet is to connect the LawLAN online gaming event this coming weekend. This event which helps raise money for the local Sikh community centre is held from the 12 to 14 May in Slough, with gaming enthusiasts gathering to show off their skills for a good cause.

This is the third time that Zen has provisioned the broadband for this event, and this year even higher speeds will be offered - the new Zen 8000 Active package will be used to power the event and will give the gamers speeds of up to 8Mbps.

This will be a massive boost to LawLAN, which actually began with a dial-up connection, but has become so well established with growing numbers of attendees, that connection speeds have increased over the years.

Zen will deliver a high speed and reliable connection with the bonus of a free static IP address, adding to the stability and smooth running of the Internet connection. The Zen core network also has no contention, leading to consistent speeds and producing an ideal gaming environment for the event.

Rashpal Singh Bahra, one of the organisers of the event, commented:

“Having the support of Zen has helped us run the LAN more and more successfully each year, and makes sure we can give the most back to the community centre. Zen has always proved reliable and with the new higher speeds on offer this year we can continue to create the best gaming experience for those who attend. A high quality Internet connection is proving essential due to the growth of online games in recent years.”
